(Vacancy No. 21010101409) One vacancy for the post of Assistant Director(Shipping) Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers, (UR-01). The post is permanent. Pay Scale: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Age: 35 years. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: (A) EDUCATIONAL: Degree of a recognized University/Institute. (B) EXPERIENCE: Three years experience of Shipping or chartering of ships or port operations. DESIRABLE:Associateship/Fellowship/Diploma in Shipping from any Shipping Institute recognized by Government of India. NOTE: The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DUTIES: Policy matters on shipment of fertilizers, Planning of shipment schedules; Interpretation of freight contracts, charter party and Bill of lading terms , nomination of port of discharge, examination of mishaps to fertilizer vessels and cargo during voyage and examination of arbitrations arising out of it in India and abroad. Coastal movement of fertilizers; daily port position; Handling of fertilizers by STAs; examination of contracts from shipping angles; examination of vessels, their age, size and other allied matters; examination of demurrage claims, finalization of stevedoring rates, disputes in respect of lighterage and stevedoring rates; accidents of ports and demands arising there from
